1 Peter 1:9. Receiving the end of your faith,
even the salvation of your souls. 10. Of which salvation the prophets
(of the Old Testament) have inquired and searched diligently, who
prophesied of the grace that should come to you: 11. Searching what, or
what manner of time the spirit of Christ which was
in them did signify,
when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory
that should follow. 12. To them it was revealed, that not to themselves,
but to us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you
by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent
down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.
2 Corinthians 1:20. For all the promises of God
in him (Jesus) are yes, and in him Amen, to the glory of God by us.
New International Version Hebrews 11:39 These
(Old Testament believers) were all commended for their faith, yet none
of them received what had been promised. 40 God had planned something
better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.
Acts 2:32. This Jesus hath God raised up,
whereof we all are witnesses.33. Therefore being by the right hand of
God exalted, and having received (Jesus having received) from the Father
the Promise of the Holy Ghost, he (Jesus) hath shed forth this
( the
baptism of the Holy Spirit and power), which you now see and hear.
