THE JUSTICE AND FREEDOM IN THE GREAT GOSPEL AGE

Back to the
main article

Isaiah 42:1. Behold my servant, whom I uphold; my elect, in whom my soul delights; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth justice to the Gentiles. 2. He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. 3. A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking wick shall he not put out: he shall bring forth truth to produce justice. 4. He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he has set justice in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.

Isaiah 9: 7. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Isaiah 11:10. And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the peoples; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

Isaiah 51:4. Hearken to me, my people; and give ear to me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my justice a light of the peoples, it will bring rest. 5. My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and my arms shall judge the peoples; the isles shall wait upon me, and on my arm shall they trust.

Isaiah 51:16. And I have put my words in your mouth, and I have covered you in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say to Zion, You art my people.

Isaiah 49 6. And he said, It is a light thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give you for a light to the Nations: that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth. 7. Thus says the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the Lord that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee. 8. Thus says the Lord, In an acceptable time have I heard you, and in a day of salvation have I helped you: and I will preserve you, and give you for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;

 Psalms 96 9. O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth. 10. Say among the nations that the Lord reigns: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously. 11. Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fullness of it. 12. Let the field be joyful, and all that is there in: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice 13. Before the Lord: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.

Numbers 14

1. And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night. 2. And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said to them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness! 3. And why has the Lord brought us to this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? is it not better for us to return into Egypt? 4. And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return to Egypt. 5. Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel. 6. And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, tore their clothes: 7. And they spoke to all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land. 8. If the Lord delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which flows with milk and honey. 9. Only don't rebel  against the Lord, neither fear the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defense is departed from them, and the Lord is with us: fear them not. 10. But all the congregation said stone them with stones. Then the glory of the Lord appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Israel. 11. And the Lord said to Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be before they believe me, for all the signs which I have showed among them? 12. I will strike them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of you a greater nation and mightier than they. 13. And Moses said to the Lord, Then the Egyptians shall hear it, (for you brought up this people in your might from among them;) 14. And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that you Lord are among this people, that you Lord are seen face to face, and that your cloud stands over them, and that you go before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night. 15. Now if you shall kill all this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of you will speak, saying, 16. Because the Lord was not able to bring this people into the land which he swore to them, therefore he has slain them in the wilderness. 17. And now, I beg you, let the power of my Lord be great, according as you have spoken, saying, 18. The Lord is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation. 19. Pardon, I beg you, the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of your mercy, and as you have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now. 20. And the Lord said, I have pardoned according to your word: 21. But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord. 22. Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice; 23. Surely they shall not see the land which I swore to their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it:
